Sep 27 Five First-Class Designers Unveiled At Emerging Talent Milan's Global Showcase

As one of the premier fashion capitals, Milan attracts thousands of fashion professionals and has been a discover point for many of the great names we know and love. Emerging Talents Milan is a proven global designer scouting event for first-class design talent. The showcase accounts for the launch of many global designers from 25 countries. Each season Emerging Talents Milan selects some of the most inspiring international brands that are growth ready and unveils them to the industry and the world.

This year the physical show was organized with careful social distancing measures in place on September 26 and was followed by 2 days with fashion presentations on Set 27 and 28.

It was apparent that this season displayed an elevated awareness to social issues by the five designers selected this season. The selected designers this years participated in physical fashion shows at the Palazzo Visconti.

SAUDI

OTKUTYR Fashion House is dedicated to presenting the best of Saudi artists on an international level since its grand opening in 2011. By combining the expertise and resources of the fashion house with designers’ artistic vision, the brand has been successful in showcasing the best of contemporary Saudi fashion on a global scale. The Saudi fashion house celebrates its 10th Anniversary at Milan Fashion Week presenting 10 outstanding pieces. In the continuous effort to represent and embody slow fashion; left over crystals off the fashion house’s floor were repurposed for the hand embroidery and embellishments of the runaway pieces. Moreover, in maintaining the ethos of zero waste, motifs from previous collections were also repurposed. The pieces have evolved in their own right; as gowns were transformed into suits, tops into bodysuits, and ball gowns into campy jackets. The collection includes timeless colors such as black, red, and a combination of black and white with a splash of bold color such as fuchsia.

COSEL is a slow fashion Polish brand. The designer Anna Szubert graduated the University of Fine Arts in Łódź. All materials used on collections are unique and unrepeatable, created in a duet of designers and graphics. The world of nature is the main design of printed fabrics used by the brand. The invisible underwater world, enchanting with its beauty, peace and bliss, was the inspiration for the Queen of the Coral Reefs collection. In this slow world, tropical creatures move between the reefs in their own rhythm, unhurriedly, so beautiful and colorful that you want to stay there for longer. We keep memories of holidays and happy moments. We create images on light silk. We dress the woman lightly and airy. When she enters the room, everyone turns their eyes to her and all thoughts go to the most beautiful moments in life. Anna dedicates her collection to strong women who know their value, look for beauty, take care of their health and live by values. Caring about the environment, admiring nature and living in harmony with nature. Conscious that we are part of it. Those who go through life with dignity and want to leave a better world behind.

URIEL SAENZ is an international fashion designer presents his Spring Summer 2021 collection “MADRE”, a tribute to his mother who recently passed due to cancer. “My mother, who taught me how to sew, at the early age of 5 years old showed me that fit and attention to details was the most important thing in creating fashion.” -says Uriel. “My approach to design is grounded in my purpose to raise awareness about the issues impacting the world. As the world evolves, seemingly faster every day, we are increasingly embracing how alike we really are and have shared global values and social ideals. I aim for my collections to serve as a vehicle to highlight those universal ideas that can bring all peoples together.” Saenz’s approach to fashion intertwines with his vision for his company, “showcasing the changing American Lifestyle, celebrating the contributions that make it unique, and honoring similarities.” Saenz couture collection “Reflections” has been seen and praised at the Louvre Museum in Paris, and the Collection “Violence” has brought an awareness to the many men and women facing domestic violence.

Maya Seyfeth’s designs tell a cohesive story, the kind that communicated a visual metaphor of unison between the fragility, femininity and incomparable strength of women and creating beautiful garments that not only provoked aesthetic but also provoked emotions, with this collection the very talented designer draws inspiration from the sun-Its lights, its colors and energy embraced an attitude of sexuality, charged by an inherent knowledge of the foundations of looking good. MAQUINN Couture presents Spring-Summer 2021 collection Pilgrimage, Traces of Ancestral Journey in European Style Indonesian Batik Clothing. Janice Pradipta Setyawan and Benita Pradipta Setyawan, designers and founders of Maquinn Couture explained that the harmonious diversity in the lives of their ancestors in the past inspired the birth of this European-Indonesian batik masterpiece. "Synchronizing two cultures from two continents while maintaining their authenticity, is not easy. In order to create beautiful clothes, the richness of Indonesian batik must be in tune with the power of European fashion. Therefore, we chose "Pilgrimage" as the theme as well as the life of our clothes," said Janice. “This collection is illustrated in a modern floral style. The floral element adapts the batik style that the Indonesian people like to use. Meanwhile, the modern element is taken from a typical European fashion style,” said Benita. Through the “Pilgrimage” collection, Maquinn Couture wants to highlight a feminine side that is flexible, beautiful and fresh but still strong and majestic. Silk woven fabrics, gold ink and genuine leather were chosen as the materials that dominate this collection, produced by maintaining the traditional way. Starting from the weaving of silk fabrics, depicting batik motifs, to making batik fabrics that are ready to be processed, designers maintain all processes for their authenticity. In addition to painting techniques, batik in this collection is applied by combining embroidery and beading techniques. These two techniques were chosen to present a bold, elegant and detailed impression.
